Wayang golek puppet: Resi Bisma
Bisma is the grandfather and teacher of both the Pandavas and the Kauravas. He is the son of King Prabu Santanu and Dewi Gangga and is known for his vow of chastity and for renouncing the throne out of a sense of duty, for which he was granted the blessing of choosing the moment of his own death. During the great war, he fights alongside the Kauravas out of loyalty to the kingdom, although his heart lies with the Pandavas. He ultimately dies on a bed of arrows, shot by Srikandi.
