Welcome to House of Wayang. My passion for Asia, specifically for Indonesian culture, began during my first journey through the archipelago in 1994. As a theater enthusiast, I was enchanted by the Ramayana epic and the captivating Wayang performances. During that trip, I purchased my first gamelan instruments and theater puppets. Over the past thirty years, our collection has grown to become the largest private Wayang collection in Europe.

Wayang Golek, Klitik, and Kulit
House of Wayang specializes in authentic Wayang puppets and aims to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of this unique cultural heritage. We often acquire our puppets directly from Dalangs (puppeteers) who wish to replace their old and new puppets with new ones, ensuring that their ancient tradition can be passed down from father to son.

In addition to Wayang puppets, we offer an extensive collection of sculptures, masks, and objects from Nepal, India, China, and Indonesia. Each piece is carefully and passionately selected and reflects the cultural richness of the Far East. We not only aim to offer unique and beautiful pieces but also to be a source of inspiration for enthusiasts of Asian art and culture. Therefore, we provide each item with as much detailed information as possible about its provenance, craftsmanship, and historical background.

We strive for the highest quality in our offerings. We primarily purchase from Dalangs, individuals, and collectors, always offering them a fair and honest price. We deal exclusively in authentic items and never in stolen art.
